The Awards Committee of the National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME) has selected GROW YOUR OWN TEACHERS for the 2012 Rose Duhon-Sells Program Award!
This award was given to GYO for:
- Meeting the needs of a diverse population or seeks to expand multiculturalism for monocultural populations
- Offering a curriculum that responds to the diversity of our nation and prepares students to be active participants in our democratic society.
- Offering effective instructional strategies for the population it serves
- Fostering connections between home, school, and community.
- Documenting results to share with the larger educational community.
Action Now is a convening member of the Grow Your Own Teachers Program and we are excited to congratulate them on winning this award!
